Did you know that it is possible to turn your life video training into a podcast episode…really… easily? Podcasting can get people overwhelmed and stuck in a rut so I hope that my tips will help you get into action quickly and create a great workflow that you can use each week with ease. Personally, I use 4 tools that work together seamlessly and enable me to create a regular podcast episode easily and professionally. LIVE VIDEO TO PODCAST WORKFLOW So, my workflow goes like this: I go live weekly using ECamm Live and Restream, which distributes my live show to different social media networks and channels at the same time. I then upload that recorded livestream from Restream into my computer. ECamm Live is an amazing software that enables you to bring pre-recorded videos onto the screen, share your screen to demo things and enables you to give live interviews. You can also add sound effects if you want to, like applause and add graphics on the screen, like lower third overlays, your logo, viewers’ comments and other things which look really professional, help with your engagement, your training and can be entertaining and visually appealing. A Screenshot of One of My Weekly Live Trainings using ECamm Live Restream and Ecamm Live work side by side perfectly with no coding or anything confusing to have to do. EDITING THE TRANSCRIPTION I upload the audio file that is saved on my computer into Descript, give it a title and it magically transcribes the audio for me! As you play the audio file Descript highlights the words like a karaoke, so you can easily see where you are in the document and it shows you where you are on a waveform at the same time! So, it makes editing very very quick and easy. I can delete my “ums" and “ahs”, just as you would delete a word when typing, and you can delete all your filler words at once if you want to! Brilliant. A Screenshot of My Work in Progress of this Training in Descript (note the mistakes!) I can change things that are wrong in the text and I can even add timestamps (which is great for a podcast show notes and a YouTube video), download the text onto my computer to help me create my blog and show notes, and create a couple of audiograms for social media. BUILDING YOUR PODCAST EPISODE I then upload the edited audio into Alitu. Alitu is an attractive, easy to use platform to edit your audio, add intros/outros/advert breaks etc. Importantly, it also automatically does fancy things to your audio to make it sound great, saving you tons of time and bother. A Screenshot of The Building Blocks of This Podcast Episode in Alitu From there I select a juicy clip and put this at the beginning of my episode, followed by my professional intro, the main episode, then the professional outro to end. (I’ve added my copyright free music to my intro and outro in Alitu already and the file sits in there, so it's easy and in just one click it jumps straight into your episode.) I love Audio Jungle for great value copyright-free tracks, but if you regularly need tracks for your live videos and YouTube channel, Epidemic Sound is a great option. I then click a few buttons to add a fade in and fade out between my different clips and the episode is completed in about five minutes in Alitu! (If I used a conventional audio editing tool like GarageBand or Audacity it would take me far, far longer) PUBLISHING YOUR EPISODE So, now my completed episode audio is ready, I add the title and show notes in Alitu, upload (which takes it about 15 minutes for a 1/2 hour show), listen to it if I want to, and then press “publish to Captivate FM” and it’s done!! In a few minutes it is automatically sent to all your chosen platforms or scheduled, whatever is best for you. I really think it is almost magic: so, so easy! Captivate FM is a podcast hosting platform that stores your audio files, converts them and send them to all the platforms that people listen to podcasts in. It is made by podcasters, is intuitive to use and has a number of tools that help podcasters to grow. The whole process takes me about two hours, (if I'm making it into a blog as well, about three hours). I’m so loving this workflow. It’s easy and it also caters for all your audience, whatever their learning style, and however they like to consume content: written, audio or visual. So guys, I hope this has been really helpful and if you would like to start a podcast now, the easiest way, go to https://www.beyourbestyou.live/podcastquickstart for your free guide. Next week's blog is about green screens. Green screens can be really useful and effective for your live video trainings but they can also look a bit messy, distracting and unnatural. So, make sure you don’t miss the episode as I will share a few tweaks that could really help you. Blessings, Katy
Podcasting can get people overwhelmed and stuck in a rut so I hope that my tips will help you get into action quickly and create a great workflow that you can use each week with ease.
Personally, I use 4 tools that work together seamlessly and enable me to create a regular podcast episode easily and professionally.
So, my workflow goes like this: I go live weekly using ECamm Live and Restream, which distributes my live show to different social media networks and channels at the same time.
I then upload that recorded livestream from Restream into my computer.
